How To Apply Gel Polish: Start With Your System
A good at-home routine starts before the first coat. Gel products and lamps are not interchangeable by default, so use the instructions supplied with your exact system as your working guide.
Plan your workspace
Set out your chosen color, the base and top products specified by the manufacturer, your compatible lamp and the tools listed in the product instructions. Check that you have removal instructions before you begin. Keep your work area clean and well lit so you can see the edges of each nail.
Read before you apply
Look for the recommended preparation steps, coating sequence, compatible lamp and curing instructions on the product label. We do not publish a universal curing time because this varies by formula and equipment. Do not substitute an assumed timing for the instructions for your own product.
Leave room to learn
Take your time with the first application and follow the specified layer thickness. Avoid getting uncured product on surrounding skin. If you are unsure how to use a product, ask its supplier or a qualified nail professional before continuing.
